Waterfront Lead – YMCA Camp at Horsetheif Reservoir

YMCA Camp teaches self-reliance, instills a love for nature and the outdoors, and builds character and leadership—all amidst the fun of camp fires, canoeing, archery, friends, zip-lining, paddleboarding, mentorships, ropes course, and so much more. YMCA Camp at Horsethief Reservoir is positively the best way to change a child’s life.

The Waterfront Lead is responsible for management of all waterfront areas and activities including, but not limited to, swimming, boating, and fishing. The Waterfront Lead is responsible for management and development of all staff while at waterfront. Waterfront Leads will also manage evening activities and special events. All YMCA employees are expected to model and teach the YMCA Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
 
Starting Wage Range: $360 - $372/week, plus 6% differential for hours spent lifeguarding
Proposed Starting Date: June 5th, 2018

Key Qualifications:





 
Must be a minimum of 21 years old. Must have a current lifeguard certification with minimum of two years’ experience. Experience supervising pool or waterfront area preferred. Knowledge and skill in working with youth and teens in a positive leadership role, providing guidance, and instruction. Lifeguard, First Aid, and Open Water certifications prior to start date.
 
Additional Requirements:








 
This is a seasonal position from June 5th – August 10th. Camp schedules will be Sunday-Friday. Must be able to live at YMCA camp facilities in Cascade, Idaho during work times.
 
Job requires ability to walk, stand, sit (including on the floor), bend, lean, and kneel in a variety of indoor and outdoor locations. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Must have ability to lead and participate in physically strenuous activities in a high altitude outdoor wilderness environment.
