The Risk and Safety Assistant Director is responsible for providing general support and assistance to the Risk and Safety Director in the administration and coordination of the Treasure Valley Family YMCA’s risk management, occupational safety, and insurance programs. Tasks include, but are not limited to, database management, claims management, training, risk assessment, and health and safety audits.

Starting Wage Range:     $33,000 - $41,250

Key Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience of 3 to 5 years’ administrative experience in occupational safety, business administration or a related field is required.  Basic knowledge of workers’ compensation, general liability insurance, risk analysis, drug testing, regulatory standards.

Successful candidate will possess the human relations skills necessary to maintain a level of credibility and authority from an advisory relationship with staff and volunteers and interface with insurance brokers and carriers.  Ability to learn interpret and explain policies, procedure, rules and regulations. Ability to identify and understand complex problems and concepts, apply logical thinking and quantitative methods to gathering and analyzing information, make decisions and exercise good judgment based on available data, design solutions to problems, and formulate and articulate action plans proactively and collaboratively. Ability to successfully utilize computer applications in order to maximize the effectiveness of business operations.

This position requires skills in the areas of training, planning, and organizing to carry out a program of risk management to protect the assets of the Association and the people related to it. 

Additional Requirements:
This is a full-time position with a schedule that is primarily Monday – Friday, but is flexible depending upon need. Some nights and weekend will be required in order to meet the needs of our staff, members, and volunteers.
