School-Age Youth Program Leaders

The Treasure Valley Family YMCA’s Child Development programs support children in their ongoing growth to ensure that they are ready for the next educational milestone, whether that be preschool, kindergarten, middle school, or high school.
 
School-Age Program Youth Leaders are responsible for providing a high quality, developmentally appropriate experience for the children in the program. They will oversee the program curriculum and environment to meet the needs of the children and families. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for children aged 6-12, and the ability to build genuine relationships with participants.
 
Starting Wage Range:
$8.77- $11.00, DOE
 
Key Qualifications:
Must be 16 years of age and older. Must have or be willing to obtain a Boise City Child Care license upon hire. One year of experience with K- 6th grade preferred.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge and experience in developing and implementing daily lesson plans and creating an environment to meet the cognitive, social, emotional and physical needs of the kids. Applicants must be able to build warm and supportive relationships with children, families, and staff in the program.
 
Physical Requirements:
Must have the ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for extended periods. Must be able to lift and/or assist children up to 50 pounds in weight.  Possible exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids. Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and physical ability to act swiftly in emergencies.
 
Schedule Requirements:
This is a permanent position. No summer-only applicants, please. We have Part-Time and Full-Time positions available. A variety of shifts are available within the operating ours of Monday-Friday, 6:00AM-6:30PM. **During the school year, shifts are before and after school.
