Youth Volleyball Referees - Boise & Meridian Youth Sports
 
Youth Volleyball is an opportunity for kids of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds to play recreational volleyball in a safe, fun, and nurturing environment. Every kid plays equally in YMCA Youth Volleyball regardless of their position or individual ability.
 
YMCA Youth Volleyball Referees are responsible for creating a great game day experience for participants, volunteers, and families. YMCA Youth Volleyball Referees must model character values, sportsmanship, and teamwork. In addition, YMCA Youth Volleyball Referees. must have the ability to appropriately communicate and hold participants accountable for Y-Ball rules and regulations while modeling the Y Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
 
Starting Wage:
$7.80
 
Proposed Start Date:
 August 18th
 
Key Qualifications:
Must be at least 15. Ability to referee, teach, and coach children in grades Kinder – 7th. Volleyball-specific knowledge a plus.  Must create an environment in which children feel respected and engaged in the activity. Must be able to create and maintain a safe and fun youth environment while being energetic and enthusiastic.  Upon hiring must maintain CPR and first-aid and complete YMCA required trainings
 
Physical Requirements:
Must have the physical ability to stand and walk for extensive periods of time, visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations, and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency. Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and crouching. Must have ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate needs. Must be able to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
 
Schedule Requirements:
Mandatory staff training on August 18th. Game dates are August 30th, September 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th, and October 4th.

Opportunities for other seasons and year-round employment are also available to sports applicants.  Schedule may vary occasionally depending on assigned age group and location and occasional staff meetings on week nights.
