Healthy Living Center Coordinator – Diabetes Prevention Program
The YMCA Healthy Living Center (HLC) is a partnership between the Treasure Valley Family YMCA, area health organizations, and our community. Together, we provide evidence-based programs that profoundly address many health concerns. The HLC and its programs bring together medical and fitness professionals to help individuals achieve the best possible health care and overall quality of life. We focus on prevention and lifestyle changes as an essential part of health care and healthy living.
The Healthy Living Center Coordinator will manage the Treasure Valley Family YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) currently operating through the Treasure Valley. DPP is an evidence-based program designed to help participants with a high risk of developing type-2 diabetes through nutrition education, increased physical activity, and moderate weight loss. The Coordianator will provide team leadership, hire and train Lifestyle Coaches, register program participants, and collaborate with community agencies in meeting the needs of member and program participants. Additionally, the Coordinator will ensure program compliance with all federal, HIPAA, and HITEACH requirements regarding PHI and patient confidentiality.
Starting Wage Range:
$12.96 - $16.20

Key Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Health Science or related field required. Knowledge of pre-diabetes and type-2 diabetes and prevention is required.  YMCA Diabetes Prevention Lifestyle Coach Certification required within 6 months of employment.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required.  Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of HIPAA compliance, chronic disease, electronic medical records, and experience facilitating or teaching in a group setting.
Successful candidates will have the ability maintain confidentiatily, confortably speak in a public setting, and  build relationships with partners, members, and YMCA guests.
Physical Requirements:
Position includes extended periods of sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, and stretching. Must have the ability to move equipment up to 35 lbs.
Schedule Requirements:
This is a full time position. A minimum of one night per week is required, and occasional weekend hours are required for special events/classes and Manager on Duty shifts. Occasional travel is required.
