Stand Up Paddleboard Instructor – West – Aquatics
Stand Up Paddleboard Instructors are responsible for leading group exercise classes, helping participants work on breathing, focus, control, and flexibility while on a paddleboard.  Instructors will connect with members and establish a sense of community within the class and the Y.  All YMCA employees are required to work autonomously within the Y core values of honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility.
Starting Wage Range: $15.31 - $20.06

Key Qualifications:

Applicant must be at least 18 years of age or older. Must have a group exercise certification (Yoga or Pilates background preferred), personal trainer, or Aquatic Exercise Association certification prior to hire. CPR and YMCA Water Safety Assistant certification required within 45 days of hire. Successful applicants will demonstrate strong leadership and communications skills as well as the ability to work independently.
Additional Requirements:

This position is part-time, 1-3 hours per week.  Current class schedule is Sunday 10:15AM-11:15AM.  Preferred applicants will be flexible with the ability to substitute for other instructors as needed.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time in a hot, humid, aquatics environment.  Must be able to tread water for at least two to three minutes at a time and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
