JOB OPENING ANNOUNCEMENT
Senior Head Lifeguard – Aquatics - Downtown
 
Senior Head Lifeguards are responsible for assisting with all lifeguard and safety management functions of the Aquatics Center. Senior Head Guards are also responsible for mentoring, conducting safety and lifeguard drills, and ensuring the rescue readiness of the entire lifeguard team.  All employees must model the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
 
Starting Wage Range: $11.36 - $14.08
Proposed Starting Date: ASAP
Key Qualifications:





 
Must be over the age of 18.  Successful applicants will demonstrate excellent customer service, communication, and organization skills.  Current lifeguard certification required. CPR-PRO, First Aid, and Administering Emergency Oxygen Certifications required within 60 days of hire. YMCA Lifeguarding certification required within 90 days. Two years of lifeguard experience preferred.   
   
Additional Requirements:







 
This is a full-time position at 35 hours per week. Flexible availability preferred, as hours may vary depending upon program needs. This position includes approximately 15 hours of administrative work and 20 hours of lifeguarding
 
Must be able to hear noises and distress signals, remain alert while observing areas of responsibility act swiftly and respond to emergency situations.
