The Camp Health Center Lead will work with volunteer nurses to organize, maintain, and utilize resources for serving the medical needs of campers and may hand out medication under nurse’s supervision. Each camp staff member is responsible for the health and safety of all program participants and the development and upkeep of one or more activity areas.  Additionally, camp lead positions are responsible for supervision and development of camp staff, programs, and assist with operational aspects of camp.  All YMCA employees are expected to model and teach the YMCA Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
Starting Wage Range:
$360 - $372 per week

Key Qualifications:

Must be at least 21 years old at the start of employment.  Must have current driver’s license and must meet YMCA driver’s qualifications prior to June 5th, 2018.  Nursing student or nursing background preferred. Experience in camping and outdoor recreation is preferred.  Must have the knowledge and skill in working with youth and teens in a positive leadership role and be able to provide guidance and instruction.  Must be able to keep an inventory of equipment and upkeep of equipment.  Must be able to assist with the management of campers and keep up with the assignment of camp activities.
Additional Requirements:

Camp staff positions are seasonal from June 5th – August 10th.  Camp schedules will be Sunday - Friday.   Some full weekend shifts maybe required.  All camp staff receives a 24 hour time off period every 7 days.
Job requires ability to walk, stand, sit (including on the floor), bend, lean, and kneel in a variety of indoor and outdoor locations. Must have the ability to lift up to 50lbs. Must have ability to lead and participate in physically strenuous activities in a high altitude outdoor wilderness environment. Must have ability to live on YMCA camp property in Cascade, Idaho during programming.
