Youth Triathlon Club Coach – West/Downtown
 
Youth Triathlon Club Coaches work with youth aged 6-16, promoting a lifelong passion for activity while focusing on swimming, biking, and running.  Youth Triathlon Club coaches will work with club participants to enhance fitness skills with the larger goal of developing self-esteem, teamwork, goal setting, self-discipline and friendly competition.  Youth Triathlon Club Coaches must teach and model YMCA Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
 
Starting Wage Range: $9.66 - $12.08
Proposed Starting Date: January 23, 2018
Date of Interviews: January 8-12, 2018
Key Qualifications:








 
Must be at least 18 years old.  Must have current CPR certification or ability to obtain certification within 60 days.  Previous coaching background (preferably with children) is required, as well as the functional knowledge and ability to teach the technical components of swimming, biking, and running to a variety of skill levels. The Triathlon Club Youth Coach must possess and incorporate effective teaching skills and strategies while working with youth of varying ages and maturity levels. Youth coaches must be responsible and punctual, and promote safety at all times.
 
Additional Requirements:












 
This is a part-time position at 10-20 hours per week. During the school year, this position will work with Youth Triathlon Club participants after school Monday-Thursday, 4:pm-6:00pm. During summer, this position will support Youth Triathlon Camps Monday-Friday for 4-6 hours per day.  There are 1-2 camps per month during June, July, and August. Candidates must remain flexible to meet the needs of our participants, and available to work at both our Downtown and West branches.
 
Must have the ability to communicate in loud environments, work for prolonged periods of time in hot and humid environments, and respond quickly to emergency situations. Must have the ability to bend, lean, kneel, walk, and lift 50lbs.
