Youth Activity Center (YAC) - Downtown

The Downtown Family YMCA opened its doors in 1964 and has since been a landmark in the Downtown Boise area. The facility has a full court basketball gym, a large cardio fitness center, multiple strength training systems and rooms, racquetball courts, a climbing wall, five fitness studios, three swimming pools, and multiple youth programming areas.

The Youth Activity Center offers youth and teens (ages 6-15) a place to gather, socialize, play games, or just relax. YAC Staff is responsible for assisting children with various activities and projects, ensuring a safe, clean, friendly environment for all participants.  Within the various programs and activities offered in these areas, youth are cultivating the values, skills, and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health, and educational achievement.
 
Starting Wage:
$8.49
 
Key Qualifications:
Must be 16 years of age or older and have current CPR certification or be willing to obtain within 45 days of hire. Successful applicants will demonstrate an ability to communicate in a clear and pleasant manner; must maintain a safe, inclusive environment for children; must be able to respond quickly to emergency situations; must have a basic understanding of child development principles.
 
Physical Requirements:
Must have the ability to walk, stand and sit on the floor for extended periods of time in a variety of indoor and outdoor locations. Must have the ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
 
Schedule Requirements:
This is a part-time position. Typical schedule is Wednesday 3:30pm-8:00pm and Saturday 9am-3pm.  Applicants must specify availability on application.  Applicants must be able to attend meetings and training which may fall outside of regular hours.
