AAU Basketball Gym Supervisor - South Meridian
 
Southwest Idaho’s largest competitive basketball league offers players the opportunity to compete for their local high school all while learning the values of sportsmanship, effort, respect, and teamwork with a focus on maintaining healthy lifestyles and relationships. Treasure Valley AAU is committed to providing players with a positive playing experience. Through YMCA leadership, volunteer coaches as positive role models, and parents/families providing positive and continuous support, Treasure Valley AAU Basketball is a platform for players to improve their game within a competitive environment and foster a lifelong pursuit of health.
 
AAU Basketball Gym Supervisors are responsible creating a great game day experience for participants, volunteers, officials,and families, acting as the point of contact and providing leadership for the site on game days.  Gym supervisors must model character values, sportsmanship, and teamwork. 

Starting Wage:
$9.76 - $12.00, DOE

Key Qualifications:
Must be at least 18.  Basketball-specific knowledge a plus.  Must create an environment in which children feel respected and engaged in the activity. Must be able to create and maintain a safe and fun youth environment while being energetic and enthusiastic.  Upon hiring must maintain CPR and first-aid and complete YMCA required trainings.
 
Physical Requirements:
Must have the physical ability to stand and walk for extensive periods of time, visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations, and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency. Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and crouching. Must have ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate needs. Must be able to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
 
Schedule Requirements:
Part-time, seasonal position. AAU Basketball game take place Saturdays 8:00am – 5:00pm.
 
Opportunities for other seasons and year-round employment are also available to AAU staff.
