Cardio and Weight Floor Staff - South Meridian
Opening on May 25, 2018, the South Meridian Branch of the Treasure Valley YMCA is unlike any other in the country. Our brand-new 60,000-square-foot facility is part of a unique collaboration that combines family recreation, education, sports, literacy, and wellness care on a single campus called “The Hill.” Hand in hand with our partners—St. Luke’s Health System, the West Ada School District, and the City of Meridian—the South Meridian Family Y will help us build A BETTER US.
Cardio and Weight Floor Staff is responsible for creating a friendly, helpful, positive atmosphere for members using the Cardio and Weight Floor, building and strengthening relationships, scheduling facility and equipment orientation appointments, cultivating community, and motivating and supporting members with their health and well-being goals.
Starting Wage Range:
$10.26 - $12.70 ($9.76 - $12.20 upon hire, $.50 differential when basic life support certification is obtained)
Key Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old.  Must obtain CPR and BLS (basic life support) certification within 45 days of hire. Must have understanding of foundational fitness and equipment, basic human anatomy and physiology, and strength and conditioning.  Must be outgoing and willing to engage and work with members and other staff in an encouraging and positive manner.  Experience in customer service is preferred. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. 

Cardio and Weight Floor Staff act as First-Responders for the facility, and must have the ability to act swiftly and decisively in an emergency. 
Physical Requirements:
This is a part time position with up to 25 hours per week. Current available shifts are Monday - Thursday 4:30pm-7:30pm and Saturday 11:00am-3:00pm. Ideally, one person will take all five of these shifts, but we would consider splitting this schedule between two people. Please be specific about availability on application.  
Schedule Requirements:
Position may include walking and standing for an extended periods of time, as well as kneeling, crouching, squatting and bending.  Must have the ability to lift at least 50 lbs in weight.

Cardio and Weight Floor Staff act as First-Responders for the facility, and much be available for monthly in-service training that fall s outside of regularly scheduled shifts.
