Senior Head Lifeguard – Downtown Boise
 
The Downtown Family YMCA opened its doors in 1964 and has since been a landmark in the Downtown Boise area. The facility has a full court basketball gym, a large cardio fitness center, multiple strength training systems and rooms, racquetball courts, a climbing wall, five fitness studios, three swimming pools, and multiple youth programming areas.
 
Senior Head Lifeguards are responsible for assisting with all lifeguard and safety management functions of the Aquatics Center. Senior Head Guards are also responsible for mentoring, conducting safety and lifeguard drills, and ensuring the rescue readiness of the lifeguard team.  
 
Starting Wage Range:
$11.47 - $14.22
 
Key Qualifications:
Must be over the age of 18.  Successful applicants will demonstrate excellent customer service, communication, and organization skills. Current lifeguard certification required with Basic Life Support, First Aid, and Administering Emergency Oxygen Certifications. YMCA Lifeguarding certification required within 90 days. Must obtain YMCA Lifeguard Instructor certification after hire. 
 
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to hear noises and distress signals, remain alert while observing areas of responsibility act swiftly and respond to emergency situations.
 
Schedule Requirements:
This is a full-time position. Flexibility is expected in order to meet the needs of the business. This position included approximately 20 hours of lifeguarding and 15 hours of administrative work.
