Swim Instructors do so much more than teach swim lessons - they inspire confidence in others of all ages. One of the most effective ways to instill confidence in people and create a healthier community is to teach youth, teens, and adults to swim, so they can stay safe around water and learn the skills they need to make swimming a lifelong pursuit for staying healthy.
YMCA Swim Instructors are responsible for teaching basic swimming skills to beginners and instructing and observing all participants in proper stroke development and techniques while maintaining high levels of safety and customer service for all.

Starting Wage Range:
$9.86 - $12.32, DOE

Key Qualifications:
Must be a minimum of 16 years old and be certified in WSI or YSI.  We have certification classes available. Knowledge of pool safety procedures is preferred.  We are looking for candidates with  excellent customer service and communication skills, and someone that will join the aquatics team in being responsible for the safety and maintenance of the aquatics center.

Additional Requirements:
This position is part-time with afternoon or morning shifts available. Typical shifts are Monday-Thursday 3:30PM-7:30PM OR Monday-Thursday 9:00AM to 2:00PM.

Must be able to work in hot, loud, humid, environments for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
