Youth Program Lead – Everyday Leadership Program
 
Everyday Leadership is a collaborative effort created to provide Treasure Valley 5th and 6th grade youth with the skills and confidence they need to graduate from high school and attain post-high school educations. The Youth Program Lead will supervise regular Everyday Leadership after-school sessions throughout the school year focusing on leadership, teamwork, communication, cooperation, service to others, conflict resolution, and decision making. The program culminates with a three-day leadership retreat at YMCA Camp at Horsethief Reservoir.
 
In addition to supervision of the Everyday Leadership program, the Youth Program Lead provides administrative support, leadership, and program supervision within the Youth Department at the Downtown Branch of the Treasure Valley YMCA.
 
Starting Wage:
$9.86 - $11.00, DOE
 
Key Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old.  Must have current CPR certification or the ability to obtain within 45 days. Must have experience working with youth ages 6 -12 years old.  Must have demonstrated leadership, relationship-building, and team-building skills, and have the ability to relate to youth of all ages. Must have the emotional maturity necessary to coach staff and mediate conflict.  Must have ability to  maintain records and data sheets (attendance, leadership assessments, parent surveys, etc.).
 
Physical Requirements:
Must have ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for extended periods of time. Position may require bending, kneeling stooping, and crouching. Must have the ability to view/enter data and curriculum for long periods of time. Must have the ability to lift and carry food and supplies weighing up to 30 lbs.
 
Schedule Requirements:
This is a part time position at approximately 30 hours per week. Schedule will vary dependent on the needs of the department and will include some nights and weekends.  Applicants must be able to attend meetings and training which may fall outside of regular hours.
