Retreats & Outdoor Education Staff – YMCA Camp at Horsethief Reservoir
Retreats & Outdoor Education Staff are responsible for the facilitation of various programs and activities at YMCA Camp at Horsetheif Reservoir during the spring and Fall Seasons. Activities may include teaching Outdoor Education classes to 5th and 6th grade students, ropes/challenge courses, waterfront activities, and team building activities. Successful Retreats and Outdoor Education staff members will have the ability to create an inclusive and encouraging environment for all participants. All YMCA employees are expected to model and teach the YMCA Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.   
Starting Wage Range: $59/day plus room and board
Proposed Starting Date:

Spring Season – April 2017 through June 2017
Fall Season – August 2017 through October 2017
Applicants may apply of one or both seasons, as well as being considered for summer employment during summer camp.
Key Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old at the start of employment.  Must have CPR and First Aid certifications prior to the starting date.  Experience in camping and outdoor recreation is preferred.  Successful candidates will have the ability to handle unexpected circumstances, a good understanding of group management, good understanding of team work and communication, the ability to work with diverse groups of people, and the ability to instruct large groups and enforce procedures. Must be safety conscious and have the ability to enforce rules.      
Additional Requirements:

This is a part-time position. Specific schedule will be dependent on group bookings.  Must have the ability to live on site Suring programming times. Room and board provided during programming times.
Job requires ability to walk, stand, sit (including on the floor), bend, lean, and kneel in a variety of indoor and outdoor locations. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Must have ability to lead and participate in physically strenuous activities in a high altitude outdoor wilderness environment.
