Youth Basketball Site Leads - Boise & Meridian Youth Sports
 
Y-Ball is an opportunity for boys of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds to play recreational basketball in a safe, fun, and nurturing environment. Every kid plays equally in Y-Basketball regardless of their position or individual ability.
 
Y-Ball Site Leads are responsible for creating a great game day experience for participants, volunteers, and families, acting as the point of contact and providing leadership for the site on game days.  YMCA Y-Ball Site Leads must model character values, sportsmanship, and teamwork. In addition, YMCA Y-Ball Referees Leads must have the ability to appropriately communicate and hold participants accountable for Y-Ball rules and regulations while modeling the Y Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
 
Starting Wage Range: $9.57 - $11.96

Key Qualifications:






 
Must be at least 18. Ability to referee, teach, and coach children in grades Kinder – 7th. Basketball-specific knowledge a plus.  Must create an environment in which children feel respected and engaged in the activity. Must be able to create and maintain a safe and fun youth environment while being energetic and enthusiastic.  Upon hiring must maintain CPR and first-aid and complete YMCA required trainings.
 
Additional Requirements:














 
Part-time, seasonal position. Y-Ball takes place Saturdays 8:00am – 5:00pm.
 
Opportunities for other seasons and year-round employment are also available to Y Ball applicants.  Schedule may vary occasionally depending on assigned age group and location and occasional staff meetings on week nights.
 
Must have the physical ability to stand and walk for extensive periods of time, visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations, and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency. Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and crouching. Must have ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate needs. Must be able to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
